Aegir is a modern Norwegian craft brewery founded in 2007. It is named after the Norse god of the seas, Aegir who according to Odin was the best brewer in the world. The brewery makes a range of traditional styles while experimenting with new and exciting innovations. It is based in Flam, at the end of the world’s longest and deepest fjord, Aurlandsfjorden, and its beers are sold in Norway and internationally. Ægir was the first craft beer brewery in Norway to change nearly their entire product range from bottles to cans in 2016 primarily because cans are the best way to keep light and oxygen away from the beer.
