Dry/ish review

Omnipollo Konx. A sweet tropical fruit based IPA through and through - nothing subtle about their dominating both aroma and taste. Compared to others similar IPAs, the sweet tropical fruits are slightly overdone - Konx was reminiscent of Lilt, or a Lilt based shandy. As might be expected, the beer has a sweet aftertaste. Konx is a high calorie beer - at 110 calories a can, not much less than Coke (139 calories). Overall a pleasant IPA but too unsubtle compared to others and very high calories.

Rosehip flavoured sour beer

Dry/ish review

Omnipollo’s Nypponsoppa is a rosehip based fruit sour in a strikeingly beautiful can. Nypponsoppa gives a massive hit of rosehip in its aroma, followed by intense rosehip flavoured sour taste. This beer is very calorific indeed - 50% more calories than the equivalent amount of Coca Cola. Undoubtedly Nypponsoppa is targetted at sour/ fruit beer fans, in particular those who are not focused on their calorie intake, but for those who are indifferent to this style of beer (or who don’t like rosehip) its probably best avoided.
