The number of brewers producing non-alcoholic beers is growing each month: non-alcoholic beers from at least 120 were available in the UK in early 2021.

There are three types of brewers brewing non-alcoholic beer: major ‘brand-led’ brewers such as Heineken and Carlsberg who primarily produce non-alcoholic versions of their largest brands; craft and independent brewers who mainly produce standalone non-alcoholic beers that are unrelated to alcoholic versions; and thirdly specialist non-alcoholic beer brewers such as Nirvana and Coast who only make non-alcoholic beers.

Aegir is a modern Norwegian craft brewery founded in 2007. It is named after the Norse god of the seas, Aegir who according to Odin was the best brewer in the world. The brewery makes a range of traditional styles while experimenting with new and exciting innovations. It is based in Flam, at the end of the world’s longest and deepest fjord, Aurlandsfjorden, and its beers are sold in Norway and internationally. Ægir was the first craft beer brewery in Norway to change nearly their entire product range from bottles to cans in 2016 primarily because cans are the best way to keep light and oxygen away from the beer.

Brewery Bavaria is one of the oldest breweries in the Netherlands. In 1719, Brewery 'De Kerkdijk' was mentioned for the first time. The Moorees family brewed craft beer there on a small scale. In order to remain assured of the very best quality, the Brewery Bavaria opened its own malt house in 1934. Since the beginning of the nineties, Brewery Bavaria also has its own natural mineral water source. This, in combination with its own malt house, means that almost the entire production chain is in-house. The brewery is thus assured of a consistent quality of its beers.

Beck’s was founded in 1874 by Heinrich Beck in Bremen. It was purchased by Interbrew in 2001 when it was the fourth largest brewer in Germany and is now part of Anheuser-Busch. Bernard's non alcoholic beer styles: Pale Ale

Bernard can trace its history back to 1597 when the citizens of Humpolec in Czech lost their right to brew beer in their homes to the owners of the Heralec manor. The brewery at Humpolec had fallen into very poor condition and the beer quality worsened until 1991 when it was purchased by three partners who rebuilt the brewery and renamed it Bernard (after one of the partners, Stanislav Bernard). Today it brews 16 beers from Czech hops, producing its own malt, its own fresh yeast and using water from its own wells.
