Belgian & Specialty

9 Belgian and Speciality beers listed

This group includes Belgian style beers and Kolsches. Belgian beers typically have strong, complex fruity flavours and rely on high levels of alcohol. Their non-alcoholic counterparts struggle to recreate the style without the alcohol content. Kolsches are only brewed in the Cologne region of Germany and have a light crisp and slightly fruity taste and aftertaste.

Fruity, fresh, spicy

Dry/ish review

Insel Swimmer’s alcohol free Saison is a Belgian style Saison beer with a lovely cloudy amber colour. Insel Swimmer’s is lightly scented and tastes of overripe apples which is balanced by a mellow spicy bitterness. This non alcoholic saison becomes more intensely fruity through its lengthy aftertaste. An unusual interesting non alcoholic execution of a saison. One thing to note is that it is quite high in calories.

Dry/ish review

Ripe apple aroma. Smooth, medium bodied feel in the mouth. Pleasantly sweet, almost fruity taste and no bitterness. Light, slightly sweet aftertaste. Despite sweetness sugar level is low and calories are moderate. Very nice.

Sweet ripe fruit and malt, bitter aftertaste

World beer award recipient

Dry/ish review

An intense sweet smell that’s reminiscent of overripe fruit. A pleasant-ish but one dimensional fruity taste that (for me) is ruined by its being excessively sweet. The long lasting aftertaste, in contrast, is bitter.

A Kölsch without alcohol? Unthinkable a few years ago. Not for us. That's why we were the first to brew it. Früh Kölsch 0.0% alcohol-free is the first Kölsch completely without alcohol. And yet wonderfully top-fermented
